Guitar girl

Today instead of watching the rest of my online lectures, I paint the sketch I did yesterday. I like the way it came out. It was a quick coloring. I didn't blend any color so I didn't get the color I wanted. I was too lazy. Anyhow, I like it. I messed up the hair but it looks overall okay. I wanted it to be more pastel. I like her face the best :) I like the blush on her cheek, and the shading on her neck.
I'm glad I chose red for her shirt because it matches well with the green sofa she sits on. In case you can't tell, the green thingy is an 'abstract' sofa. lol.

I'm not fond of drawing human/character. I'm still not good with gestures and all the movements. I want to paint something abstract, but my brain is not on the mood for that one yet.

It was fun. Now back to studying.

Portrait

Spring break is just ended :( I want another week of break. I'm not so ready for school yet.

This break has been fun because I started painting again after so so so so long. The excitement is still there, I missed this feeling :]. I've been drawing and painting stuff digitally by Photoshop with a tablet, but after all real painting is always the best. It's more challenging and is thus more fun. It's harder to pick a color or tone you really want in real life. It's harder to hide and fix the mistake when you paint in real life. I wish there were delete and re-do button.

Anyways, I drew a portrait, a face of a girl with super curly hair. Im not sure how to explain her expression, soothing? relaxing? indifferent? or empty? The main focus is the hair :] I wanted to try to draw that kind of hairstyle for awhile. The curly hairstyle always remind me of something wild and full of chaos, and a bit of sexiness. I have so much fun doing the shading. I thought it would be hard but once it started to shape I get more excited.
I like the portrait in a white background. I should have just left it white.

I would like to do it again. I wanted her skin to be lighter, but dark skin is surprisingly cool with this kind of hair. I will do better at shading next time :)

Title for this? I don't know. I would say A portrait of Peace within Chaos. Why? Because her relaxing expression is contrast with her wild, chaotic hair. Is that too cheesy? lol.

First is alway exciting.

So I happened to find this blogspot page again. I had abandoned it for a longest time. I'm so sorry :[

Ami suggested me to make art blog where I can post all my random painting and designs along with my comments. It may be a fun thing to do :)
So mark the day, this is the real first entry for this blog :)
